Substitute Bus Driver
Hallsville School District is accepting applications for Substitute School Bus Drivers for the current school year. This position will fill in regular routes as needed, mornings and/or afternoons. Hallsville School District follows a 4-day school week, Tuesday - Friday. Qualified applicants need to have the ability to obtain and maintain a Class B CDL with S and P endorsements. Background check and an annual physical are required.
Substitute drivers are paid per route.
Key Responsibilities and
Qualifications:
- Hold a current valid Missouri Driver's License
- Authorized to work in the United States
- Must care about students and their safety
- Follows laws, regulations, and rules that are established by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, Department of Revenue, State of Missouri, and the Hallsville School District
- Keeps control of students on the bus and follows discipline procedures that have been adopted
- Is neat, clean, pleasant, and sets a good example for all students
- Does daily pre-trip inspections and reports any mechanical concerns to the Fleet Technician
Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee must regularly sit, talk, listen, drive, and respond. The employee is regularly required to sit; use the repetitive wrist, hand, and/or finger movements; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, precise hand-eye coordination, and the ability to identify and distinguish colors. Occasionally, the employee may lift up to 50 pounds.
Work Environment: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential duties of this job. The noise level in the work environment is usually at a moderate level. The employee continuously interacts with staff and the public. Travel is necessary to various District buildings and/or sites.
