Lefors ISD is seeking an inspiring, student-focused Head Girls Basketball Coach to lead our high school girls basketball program for the 2026–2027 school year. We are looking for a coach who builds strong relationships, fosters a positive team culture, and is committed to developing athletes both on and off the court.

This position includes classroom teaching responsibilities. Teaching assignment will be based on district needs and candidate certification.

• Serve as Head Coach for Girls Basketball, including planning practices, developing game strategies, and cultivating a competitive, character-driven program.
• Develop athletes in fundamental skills, teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship.
• Oversee off-season and summer conditioning programs.
• Ensure UIL compliance, maintain accurate records, and monitor academic eligibility.
• Communicate consistently and professionally with athletes, parents, staff, and administration.
• Manage equipment, uniforms, gym usage, and program resources responsibly.
• Fulfill assigned teaching duties and maintain high-quality instruction in the classroom.
• Support additional athletic programs as needed, depending on skill set and district need.

• Valid Texas teaching certificate
• Coaching experience, preferably at the junior high or high school level
• Strong knowledge of basketball fundamentals, strategy, and player development
• CDL or willingness to obtain (district assistance available)
• Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills
• Commitment to building a supportive, positive athletic culture

• Previous head coaching experience
• Multi-sport coaching ability
• Experience working in a small or rural school setting
• Demonstrated success improving program performance and athlete engagement
