PhD Student in Operando Microfluidic Reactors

Position ‑00 | Full-time (100%)

Your tasks
  • Design microfluidic reactors for operando studies of photocatalysts, including hydrogen evolution reactions (HER), hydrogenation reactions, and decomposition of organic pollutants.
  • Perform experiments in PSI laboratories and at synchrotron radiation facilities; process and analyse data.
  • Optimize and automate reaction parameters, correlating structural data with the materials’ catalytic performance.
Your profile
  • Master’s degree in physics, chemistry, materials science or related field.
  • Ability to perform experimental and theoretical work, find new solutions, and work independently.
  • Background in heterogeneous catalysis, photocatalysis, electrocatalysis, or microfluidics.
  • Understanding of principles behind different spectroscopic techniques.
  • Experience in scientific programming using Python for data analysis.
  • Ability to integrate easily in an interdisciplinary research team and strong communication skills.
