Work Schedule: This is a 8-hour per day position, 5 days per week.

Rate of Pay: $20.32 - $21.04 per the salary schedule for local #70
Responsibilities- Performs regular custodial duties such as mopping, sweeping, dumping trash, cleaning glass, vacuuming, changing light bulbs, etc.
- Reports maintenance needs to Lead Custodian/Building Engineer
- Locks and unlocks doors in building according to scheduled activities
- Set-up and clean-up for special events
- Pick up trash outside the building and assist in removal of snow as required
- Other tasks as directed
Tasks involve long periods of walking, standing, stooping, lifting etc. Although minimized by safety practices, accidents, chemical and physical hazards connected with this work are always present. This position may be working around small children requiring extreme vigilance in minimizing possible accidents and access to undesirable areas.
This position requires good physical conditioning, strength, agility, endurance with no serious defect of vision, hearing or members. Must be able to lift 75# on a regular basis.
Contacts and RelationshipsPersons in this position come into contact with teachers, students, parents, staff etc. Communication, personal appearance, cooperative attitude, willingness to assist, and establish good working relationships is essential.
Minimum Qualifications- Able to operate equipment associated with custodial operations
- Knowledge of standard safety procedures associated with this work
- Able to follow oral and written directions
Valid driver's license and good driving record are required at all times if driving district vehicles - Ability and proven record of reporting to work on a regular and punctual basis
- Hands on and or written test may be administered to verify ability
