To ensure accurate and compliant tax reporting, supporting financial transparency and regulatory adherence within the organisation.
Responsibilities- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations by preparing and filing accurate tax returns on time.
- Prepare and analyse financial reports related to taxes, including income tax provisions, disclosures, and deferred taxes.
- Assist in tax planning strategies to minimise tax liabilities and optimise financial outcomes.
- Coordinate and provide support during tax audits, gathering requested documents and explaining tax positions.
- Conduct tax research to stay current with changes in tax laws, interpret implications, and recommend actions.
- Maintain accurate tax records, documentation, and work papers in compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Provide tax advice and guidance to internal stakeholders on tax‑related issues and implications of business decisions.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements in tax reporting and compliance, implementing changes to streamline operations and enhance accuracy.
- Keep abreast of industry trends and best practices, sharing knowledge through training sessions or updates.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with external tax advisors, auditors, and regulatory authorities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Law, Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field is required. Advanced degrees such as a Master’s in Taxation (M.Tax), International Tax Law, or a Juris Doctor (J.D.) with a focus on tax law are preferred.
- Certifications such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), or specialised transfer‑pricing certifications (e.g., Certified Transfer Pricing Professional – CTPP) demonstrate expertise.
- Fluency in English is essential.
- 5+ years of experience in tax accounting, financial reporting, or related field, focusing on tax compliance and reporting.
- Proficiency in preparing and reviewing tax returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations; experience with tax provisions and calculations.
- Understanding of corporate tax reporting laws and familiarity with tax software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
- Strong analytical skills to interpret financial data and tax regulations; ability to analyse statements and identify tax implications.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for collaboration with internal teams and external auditors.
