Finance Director

Overview

Bloom Biorenewables Ltd is pioneering solutions to tackle the climate crisis. Leveraging breakthrough technology developed at EPFL, Bloom transforms biomass into a true alternative to petroleum as it scales up industrial production. Bloom is seeking a Finance Director/CFO to lead strategic financial operations and support growth to the next stage.

• Strategic financial leadership: develop and execute financial strategies aligned with company growth objectives and provide insights and recommendations to the CEO and leadership.
• Operational finance management: oversee day‑to‑day financial operations, including accounting, cash flow and budgeting; create and manage the annual budget and rolling forecasts; implement robust financial controls and reporting systems; implement and maintain financial ERP tools to ensure scalability.
• Reporting: prepare accurate and timely financial reports for board meetings and investors.
• Compliance & risk management: ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, coordinate internal and external audits to maintain compliance and transparency.
• Growth enablement: support CAPEX planning for FOAK projects, Series B fundraising preparation, costing, and reporting.
• Cross‑functional collaboration: work closely with product, operations and leadership teams to enable execution.

• Experience:
  
  7–15 years in industrial controlling within an SME or large‑cap environment; solid background in corporate finance; strong experience in Swiss GAAP reporting.
• Skills:
  
  strong analytical and problem‑solving skills; hands‑on approach with the ability to dive into details while maintaining strategic oversight; familiarity with ERP systems and digital finance tools.
• Mindset: positive, energetic attitude with ambition to grow into a senior leadership role; comfortable working in a fast‑changing, agile startup environment; ability to develop alongside Bloom’s team and become an indispensable partner for financial management.
• Education:
  
  degree from a reputed university in Finance, Accounting or related field; professional certifications (CPA, CFA) are a plus.
• Language:
  English (French is not needed).
