Your Role And Responsibilities

As a Service Engineer, you will execute service work on rolling stock and energy storage systems with low to medium complexity according to work instructions and ABB standard processes, quality standards and safety guidelines. You will act as the technical point while delivering quality and satisfying customer service.

The role involves approximately 50 days of domestic and 30 days of international travel, providing hands‑on assistance at customer sites.

  • Perform service tasks such as installation, commissioning, routine maintenance, extensions, replacements, and troubleshooting of equipment.
  • Consult with and advise customers on the best service solutions, creating and maintaining strong relationships.
  • Coordinate and execute specialist projects through planning, milestone meetings and regular reviews.
  • Troubleshoot simple equipment failures, recommend preventive measures, and identify opportunities for new service applications.
Qualifications For

The Role
  • Four years of experience in electrical work, testing, maintenance or service, including work as a test‑ or commissioning engineer with power electronics or on electrical vehicles.
  • Knowledge and hands‑on experience in servicing, maintaining, commissioning and repairing power electronic products.
  • Ability to travel worldwide.
  • Proven leadership skills, a collaborative, solution‑focused approach and strong written and spoken communication skills.
  • Technician or engineering bachelor’s degree in electrotechnics.
  • Fluent in German and English;
    French is a plus.
