PhD position in Social Work (50%) - ITTS, Faculty of Economics and Business

The University of Neuchâtel (UniNE) is located in the French speaking part of Switzerland, in a city that enjoys a central location.

The Transdisciplinary Institute of Social Work (ITTS) is pleased to invite applications for a 50% PhD position in Social Work under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Michaela Slotwinski
. The position will start on or after 1 May 2026
.

• Conduct research for your (empirical) PhD thesis in the field of social work (public policy, inequality, gender economics and related fields).
• Support teaching and tutoring activities in quantitative methods for the social sciences.
• Participate in the development of the ITTS.
• The successful candidate is expected to pursue a PhD in social work within the ITTS PhD program.

• You hold a master in social work, economics, political science or a related field.
• You have excellent knowledge of undergraduate-level applied data analysis/econometrics, with a focus on causal inference.
• You have strong social and communication skills.

• The opportunity to independently work on your PhD thesis.
