Private IB Teacher - Maths and English

Supporting a client with a private hiring process, Nettworx is accepting applications for a position as a Private Teacher, focusing on International Baccalaureate - Maths and English.

A private family is seeking an experienced, English native-level teacher to provide after‑school instruction and academic support aligned with International School curricula and the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme (DP). The teacher will focus primarily on Higher Level IB Math (HL) and English, while also monitoring and academically supporting homework and test prep in humanities subjects like English literature or history.

The role is fully on‑site and requires structured lesson preparation, good communication, and flexibility to switch between subjects according to the girls’ test schedules within the daily after‑school window.

• Deliver curriculum‑aligned instruction in Higher and Standard Level IB DP courses, especially in Math and English
• Develop and monitor individualized learning plans for upcoming tests
• Monitor and support humanities subjects by supervising assignments, reinforcing key concepts, guiding research and writing tasks, and ensuring alignment with school expectations
• Prepare small tests and tasks for the girls to tackle during contact time and review the completed work during preparation time
• Assess progress regularly and maintain a disciplined, motivating, and supportive learning environment
• Homework support in other humanities

• University trained teacher
• Teaching experience in International Schools and familiarity with the International Baccalaureate (IB)
• Strong analytical skills, especially relevant for Higher Level IB Math
• Ability to design differentiated lessons, short tests and identify learning gaps
• Strong communication and motivational abilities
• Flexibility to switch between different subject support, based on the school requirements
• On‑site availability near Lucerne
• German fluency for German language text analysis and tutoring is a plus but not mandatory
• Retired or semi‑retired teachers are warmly encouraged to apply

: starting on August 17, 2026 until July 2027

Schedule
:
Mo‑Fri 5–8 pm with 2 hrs for one child in IB Diploma Programme Year 1 (Grade 11), followed by ~1 hr for a second child in 9th Grade

Estimated contact time
: ~15 hrs/week plus ~10 hrs/week personal preparation

Estimated workload
: 60%
