0.5 FTE Special Education Assessment Teacher (SEAT), Special Education Teaching License Required
HLWW Schools is currently seeking a 0.5 FTE Special Education Assessment Teacher (SEAT), Special Education License Required, starting the 2026-27 school year.
The Special Education Assessment Teacher (SEAT) serves Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted (HLWW) District, and assists with the planning and completion of individualized and comprehensive special education evaluations. The position requires experience providing data-driven educational programming recommendations, knowledge of special education eligibility criteria, as well as experience administering a variety of standardized assessments and collecting informal and qualitative data.

Middle SchoolHLWW Middle School opened its new facility in 2015. Serving grades five through eight, our Middle School staff establishes a sound foundation of core subjects, with an emphasis on incorporating a well-balanced approach to literacy. Students have the opportunity to explore many other subject areas including technology, music (band for all grades), intro to Ag, physical education/health, and art.
We offer many different activities and sports for students to participate in and supplement all those experiences with the support of a quality advisory program and support services for all our students' needs.
Our Middle School facility is up to date with technologies and furnishings. Our staff is high energy and values the importance of connecting with children so that they feel important, can achieve all they dream, and know that we care about them.
Elementary SchoolsWith two elementary schools to serve our three communities, we set out to establish a solid foundation of core academic instruction. Humphrey Elementary is home to our primary students, serving Kindergarten through second grade students, and also is home to different preschool opportunities. Winsted Elementary is home to our intermediate grade students, serving third and fourth grade students. Winsted also provides preschool opportunities as well.
Keeping class sizes low and supplementing with support staff including paraprofessionals, social workers, SLPs and SLPAs, both Humphrey and Winsted Elementary have created a positive, enriching experience for all our students and families.
