12-Month Position

Assist in maintaining consistent student attendance and provide for a safe city environment in order to maximize effective student learning. Program goals are:

• To enhance educational, social and economic opportunities for school age youth by impacting on their absenteeism and truancy.
• To impact on the systematic causes of truancy and absenteeism through linkage with juvenile service providers.
• To reduce and prevent the incidence of juvenile delinquent acts during school hours.

• High School Diploma preferred, equivalent or basic ability in communications and computation skills acceptable.
• Valid New Jersey driver's license.
• Possess a CDL license with a passenger and school bus endorsement.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule.
• Demonstrated knowledge of or training in security procedures and practices.
• Knowledge of the needs of students of different ages, cultural and educational levels.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to relate to students, school staff, administrators and the community.
• Effectively communicates and understands job instructions both verbally and written in the English language.
• Shall meet all physical requirements of the position.
• Excellent record keeping and report writing.
• Required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status.
