Position hours and days vary. Pay: 2025-26 Salary – Level 3, $20.10/hour
DescriptionThis position’s responsibilities are to ensure the safety and well‑being of students in a variety of non‑classroom settings, such as lunchrooms, hallways, and playgrounds.
Reporting RelationshipsReports to the Director of Human Resources; additionally, will report to school principal or building administrator(s) and receive guidance from certificated staff while substituting at a specific location.
Mental Demands- Deal with a wide range of student behaviors
- Deal with distraught or difficult individuals
- Maintain alertness and safety awareness
- Work outdoors in inclement weather
- Stand for prolonged periods
- Frequently lift ten (10) pounds and occasionally lift items up to twenty (20) pounds
- Move or carry students or equipment
- Be exposed to ordinary infectious diseases carried by students
- Take precautions to avoid exposure to student bodily fluids
- Be exposed to high noise levels from students
Education and Experience
- Education, training, skills, and experience necessary to carry out the assignment
- Experience working with school‑age children preferred

- Deal with students in a warm and confident manner
- Supervise and correct student behavior; learn and implement effective behavior management techniques

- Follow and give instructions
Be fair and consistent when working with children - Establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and students
- Diffuse situations and resolve conflicts
Special Requirements
- Fingerprinting and background check to determine no convictions involving physical molestation, abuse, injury or neglect of a minor
- Must complete training in and adhere to district infection control plan
- May be required to obtain first aid and CPR certification
