Following recent leadership changes and the integration of the Animal Nutrition and Pet Solutions Business Units, this newly created role provides dedicated senior ownership for critical global categories within Pet Nutrition. The Global Category Manager is accountable for the global category strategy, sourcing execution, and supplier management for:
Pet Nutrition ingredients, Palatants globally, and a defined Additives portfolio relevant to both Pet and Animal Nutrition applications. The role combines strategic category leadership, global procurement responsibility, and limited people management, ensuring focus, continuity, and value creation across high‑impact ingredient categories.

• Act as the dedicated global category owner for Pet Nutrition ingredients, safeguarding Pet‑specific priorities within the integrated Animal & Pet organization.
• Define and execute global category strategies aligned with business growth, innovation, quality, and sustainability objectives.
• Translate BU and regional requirements into clear sourcing strategies and procurement roadmaps.

• Full end‑to‑end global responsibility for the Palatants category, including strategy, sourcing, supplier portfolio management, and contract negotiations.
• Develop and drive a long‑term global palatants strategy, covering:
• Supplier segmentation and partnerships
• Innovation access and differentiation
• Supply security and risk mitigation
• Global versus regional sourcing models
• Serve as the senior procurement interface for strategic palatants suppliers worldwide.

• Own the global category strategy and procurement management for a defined Additives portfolio, across Pet and Animal Nutrition.
• Ensure alignment of additives sourcing strategies with formulation needs, regulatory and quality requirements, and cost competitiveness and supply resilience.
• Identify synergies and leverage opportunities across Pet and Animal Nutrition where appropriate.

• Line‑manage one direct report, providing clear direction, prioritization, and development support.
• Ensure effective workload allocation and alignment with global category objectives.

• Lead senior‑level supplier relationships, negotiations, and performance management.
• Partner closely with R&D, Quality, Regulatory, Supply Chain, and Commercial teams to ensure fully integrated category strategies.
• Represent procurement in cross‑functional and cross‑regional forums.

• Ensure compliance with S2P policies, procurement governance, and ethical sourcing standards.
• Proactively manage supply, quality, regulatory, and geopolitical risks.
• Drive continuous value creation through cost initiatives, specification optimization, and supplier‑led innovation.

• Senior direct procurement or category management experience in Pet Nutrition, Animal Nutrition, Feed/Food Ingredients, Additives of at least 10 years.
• Proven experience managing global categories and strategic suppliers.
• Comfortable combining strategic ownership with hands‑on execution.
• Experience with limited people management in a matrix organization.
• Strong analytical, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Bachelor degree.
