Salary

Our Customer Delivery Driver rate of pay starts from £13.35 per hour; this increases to £14.56 for stores inside the M25. Additional payments may also apply depending on location.

We offer a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours per week, with options to work fewer hours (to a minimum of 12) if preferred. The company will schedule contracted hours with three weeks notice of shifts. Flexibility is supported, and if available times are close but not exact to what is advertised, we would still like to hear from you.

Role context
:
As a Customer Delivery Driver, you meet and talk to customers in their homes and deliver Tesco goods from Lands End to John OGroats. The role is about more than driving: it involves helping customers and delivering great service with a smile. The work is hands-on, physical, and varied. Most of the day you will feel like your own boss while a team of Managers and colleagues back at base provide support when needed.

You will be responsible for

Delivering your part of the customer shopping trip by:

• Ensuring the van and trays are clean and tidy
• Leaving the back yard clean, tidy, and clear of rubbish; picking up litter as seen
• Washing trays as part of the tray wash process
• Loading the van, checking roadworthiness
• Talking to customers about substitutions or changes to orders and offering refunds when needed
• Taking care of products/deliveries as if they were your own
• Explaining that substitutions will not incur extra charges
• Delivering during the customer time slot
• Calling the customer before arriving if early
• Calling the store if running 30 or more minutes late

What you will need

• Build relationships with colleagues to create team spirit

• Ability to respond quickly to changing customer needs and embrace change
• Energetic and driven to deliver beyond expectations, balancing work and life
• Share ideas with your Manager and colleagues to improve the store
• A valid UK/EU/EEA Driving licence (Full or Automatic only) for at least 12 months with no more than 3 penalty points
