Overview

Join a brand new 24 hour emergency service in a large, independent Swindon practice, offering a real ECC caseload with full in-house work ups including CT and true continuity of care. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Night Veterinary Surgeon to join a newly launched 24 hour veterinary service within a large, independent small animal practice in Swindon. This role is ideal for a Veterinary Surgeon looking for a rewarding ECC vet job with real case ownership in an independent setting. You will be supported by a highly experienced veterinary and nursing team, enabling you to focus on delivering gold standard patient care throughout the night.

Responsibilities
  • Night position from 6pm to 8:30am, on a 7 on, 14 off rota.
  • Handle an exciting emergency and critical care caseload with on-site work ups, including access to advanced diagnostics such as CT scanning.
  • Ensure all patients remain on-site with structured morning handovers to the day team to maintain continuity of care.
  • Provide high quality clinical care in collaboration with a highly experienced veterinary and nursing team.
  • Deliver gold standard patient care throughout the night and contribute to shaping the future of the night service with flexible patterns and structured career development.
Requirements / Qualifications
  • RCVS registered Veterinary Surgeon with at least two years’ experience in small animal practice.
  • Strong emergency medicine and surgical skills with a passion for high quality clinical standards.
  • Excellent communication and client care skills; ability to support clients during stressful moments with trust and transparency.
Benefits
  • Salary from £60,000 - £75,000 DOE
  • 6pm - 8:30am night shift; 7 on 14 off; 5 weeks annual leave plus bank holidays
