Band 6 Specialist Practitioner - Swindon Early Intervention

Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust (AWP) is inviting applications for this Band 6 Specialist Practitioner role within the Early Intervention team in Swindon.

Overview

The role involves keywork with a small number of service users, conducting assessments, delivering interventions to individuals, families, and groups. You will work alongside clinicians such as family workers, CBT therapists, psychiatrists, and psychologists. Training in specialist Early Intervention assessments and outcome measures will be provided.

Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive and specialist assessment of people 14‑65 years referred to the Early Intervention Team with a first episode psychosis using the CAARMS.
  • Liaise with services and work collaboratively with others.
  • Provide advice and support to carers/relatives of young people.
  • Support the full implementation of the PWP.
  • Assist in the transfer of appropriate cases between services.
  • Ensure legal and Trust requirements affecting service user and staff are adhered to, and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Maintain accurate records relating to clinical and professional activity and monitor clinical workload using agreed systems.
  • Communicate complex and sensitive information to patients, carers and professionals.
Qualifications & Experience

Ideally prior experience in Early Intervention or a demonstrated understanding of the model. Understanding of early intervention principles and interest in the field are preferred.

Essential Requirements

Driving licence and personal transport required for this role.
