Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic KS1 Class Teacher to join our school on a full-time maternity cover contract. This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate educator to play a key role in supporting our children's learning, development, and wellbeing within a warm and supportive school community.
As the class teacher, you will take full responsibility for teaching, planning, assessment, and classroom leadership within a KS1 class. You will work closely with colleagues, support staff, and parents to ensure every child feels valued, included, and able to thrive.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver high-quality teaching across the KS1 curriculum, ensuring lessons are engaging, inclusive, and appropriately differentiated.
Plan, prepare, and assess learning in line with school policies and curriculum expectations.
Create a positive, nurturing, and stimulating classroom environment that supports children's academic and emotional development.
Adapt teaching to meet the needs of pupils with varying abilities, including SEND and EAL learners.
Maintain strong communication with parents and carers, providing regular updates on progress and wellbeing.
Work collaboratively with the KS1 team and wider school staff to ensure continuity and consistency.
Uphold high standards of behaviour, promoting a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning atmosphere.
Requirements:
A recognised teaching qualification (e.g., QTS, PGCE).
Experience teaching within KS1 or strong understanding of the KS1 curriculum.
Excellent communication and organisational skills.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team and contribute positively to school life.
