Job Description:
Pay Range: $35.1hr - $40.1hr
- The Laboratory Technician II is responsible for executing process unit operations in support of biopharmaceutical and vaccine process development activities.
- This role performs laboratory-scale production tasks, supports equipment preparation and maintenance, and ensures accurate documentation and compliance with safety and quality standards.
- The technician works collaboratively with cross-functional teams to support experimental schedules and resolve operational issues while maintaining a safe and organized laboratory environment.
- Execute process unit operations including tangential flow filtration, batch and continuous centrifugation, virus inoculation and propagation, and sterile filtration.
- Prepare solutions and buffers to support process development activities.
- Perform equipment cleaning, assembly, and sterilization.
- Conduct sampling activities including sample log-in, transfer, and results documentation.
- Perform general laboratory housekeeping, cleaning, and inventory management.
- Identify production issues and communicate them to laboratory management.
- Ensure all required documentation is completed accurately and in a timely manner to maintain product quality.
- Participate in cross-functional teams to support process operations and resolve operational challenges.
- Follow all safety procedures and actively participate in safety meetings.
- Report safety concerns, incidents, and near misses to team leadership.
- Follow Good Documentation Practices to record all experimental activities and data.
- Support overtime and off-shift work as required by experimental schedules.
- 3 to 6 years of professional experience in vaccine, biologic, or pharmaceutical manufacturing or development.
- Experience with biopharmaceutical or vaccine process development.
- Hands‑on experience with tangential flow filtration, centrifugation (batch and continuous), or cell culture operations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills with ability to multitask in a dynamic environment.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment with flexibility.
- Experience with virus inoculation and propagation.
- Experience supporting laboratory‑scale process execution.
- Familiarity with GMP or regulated laboratory environments.
Education:
- Two years of university education in a scientific discipline plus relevant manufacturing or development experience.
- Or Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline plus relevant experience in vaccine, biologic, or pharmaceutical manufacturing or development.
- Preferred Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or Life Sciences.
