Responsibilities- Perform radio dispatch duties for police, EMS, and fire units; dispatch other city units after hours and on weekends.
- Receive and route incoming telephone calls.
- Monitor fire and burglar alarms.
- Make inquiries, entries, modifications, and cancellations into the NCIC/TCIC computer as requested.
- Perform recording keeping duties.
- Perform other dispatch related duties as required.
- Serve as a 911 operator and carry out additional duties as directed/assigned.
- Minimum of high school diploma or G.E.D. certificate.
- Good moral character as determined by a thorough background investigation, including a drug screen and physical exam.
- Ability to exercise good judgment under stressful conditions.
- Fluent reading, writing, speaking, and understanding of the English language.
- Typing speed of at least 30 words per minute.
