Support Worker – SEMH Support – Swansea (South Wales)
Are you passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of children and young people? We are seeking dedicated Support Workers to join a specialist residential care and education provider in Swansea. This Support Worker role offers a rewarding opportunity to support children and young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
In this Support Worker in Swansea position, you will play a key role in supporting, mentoring, and encouraging young people while engaging in activities such as sports, visits to local attractions, cinema trips, and outings to theme parks. This role is ideal for individuals committed to fostering positive development and wellbeing among young people in a caring, supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Supporting children and young people with SEMH needs in a compassionate, professional manner
Acting as a positive role model and mentor to young people
Promoting engagement, confidence, and independence
Facilitating access to developmentally enriching activities and experiences
Building trusting relationships and encouraging behaviour that promotes wellbeing

Person Specification:

Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle – essential due to mobility requirements and activity participation
Genuine passion for supporting young people and making a difference
Ability to foster positive relationships and work effectively as part of a team
Flexibility to work on a rota basis, supporting a healthy work-life balance
Experience working with children and young people, especially those with SEMH needs, is desirable but not essential

Qualifications & Skills:

Knowledge of safeguarding protocols and policies
Understanding of social and emotional developmental needs of children and young people
NVQ or equivalent qualification in health and social care is advantageous
Commitment to continuous professional development and training opportunities
