Overview
The Department of Biosciences/Fish tracking Project at Swansea University are seeking to appoint a Fisheries technician to work on fish migration and genetic studies. The role will involve tagging, tracking and lab based work, and will include boat work and working at night during tagging operations.
Responsibilities- Tagging, tracking and lab based work related to fish migration and genetics.
- Boat work and working at night during tagging operations.
- A relevant degree, ideally with experience of tagging and tracking fish, and working in a marine environment.
- A sea survival and fitness certificate (ENG 1 or equivalent).
- A current driving licence is essential.
Fixed term contract up to 30 June 2026.

Welsh Language SkillsThe Welsh language level required for this role is Level 1 - A little. The role holder will be able to pronounce Welsh words, answer the phone in Welsh and use basic everyday words and phrases. Level 1 can be reached by completing a 1 hour course.
