Overview
Bridgestone Group are pleased to be working with a long‑established manufacturer who are looking for an experienced Production Manager to join their team based in Swansea.
This is a hands‑on management role overseeing multiple production departments and ensuring the factory operates efficiently, safely, and to high quality standards.
You will be a strong presence on the shop floor, leading supervisors, coordinating workloads, and driving performance across all teams. This role suits someone who is confident making decisions, improving processes, and maintaining excellent standards across production, quality, and health & safety.
Responsibilities- Lead and manage all production departments, including fabrication, assembly, carpentry, paint, and maintenance
- Manage department supervisors and team leaders, ensuring strong performance and accountability
- Maintain a visible presence on the shop floor, monitoring productivity and workflow
- Plan and coordinate production schedules while responding to live factory demands
- Take ownership of quality control, inspections, corrective actions, and continuous improvement
- Act as the senior point of authority for health & safety, with the ability to intervene and stop unsafe work
- Maintain and enforce RAMS, COSHH, PUWER, LOLER, and safe systems of work
- Investigate production issues, quality failures, and H&S incidents, implementing preventative actions
- Drive efficiency, reduce rework, and ensure products are delivered on time
- Work closely with senior management and HR on performance, training, and workforce planning
Shift: Monday to Friday
What We're Looking For- Proven experience in a production or manufacturing management role
- Background in manufacturing, construction‑linked production or similar environments
- Strong leadership skills with confidence to challenge and improve standards
- Practical, hands‑on approach with the ability to manage multiple teams
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to work under pressure
- NEBOSH or IOSH qualification (desirable)
