Product Designer, UI/UX Design
Try Hack Me is one of the fastest-growing cybersecurity training platforms in the world. We help millions of people learn cybersecurity through hands‑on, gamified challenges.
We’re hiring a Growth Product Designer to help us accelerate acquisition, activation, engagement, and monetisation across our B2C product.
This is not a generic UX role.
This is a designer embedded in growth – shipping experiments weekly, owning conversion metrics, and directly influencing revenue.
The Role Your mission:Design, ship, and iterate experiments that measurably improve key growth metrics.
You will:
- Design and launch high‑velocity experiments (A/B tests, pricing tests, onboarding improvements, upsell flows, paywalls, landing pages)
- Translate hypotheses into testable experiences
- Make fast trade‑offs between polish and speed
- Contribute to experiment ideation – not just execution
- Use data to inform design decisions and refine direction
- Help define what “good” looks like in conversion, activation, and retention flows
- Balance short‑term optimisation with long‑term product quality
- Free → Premium conversion
- New user activation rates
- Monetisation experiments (pricing, bundles, flash sales, localisation)
- Core user journey friction
This role is for someone who cares about measurable impact, not just visual quality.
What “Good” Looks Like- Ship experiments at high velocity
- Increase key conversion metrics (not just launch designs)
- Reduce friction in core user flows
- Build strong collaboration with PMs and engineers
- Bring structure to growth design decisions
- Raise the quality bar without slowing experimentation
- Have 3+ years designing consumer web or app experiences
- Have worked in a growth, optimisation, or experimentation‑heavy environment
- Understand A/B testing principles and experimentation trade‑offs
- Are comfortable working with product analytics (Amplitude, Hot Jar, etc.)
- Care about business outcomes as much as user experience
- Can articulate the “why” behind design decisions
- Move fast without sacrificing thinking
- Are comfortable with ambiguity and incomplete information
- Experience designing paywalls or subscription flows
- Experience with pricing or monetisation experiments
- Experience in gamified or educational products
- Remote‑first
- High ownership
- Small, fast‑moving squads
- Clear metrics
- Bias for action
- We value strong opinions, weakly held
- Clarity over complexity
- Speed over perfection
- Measurable impact over design theatre
- 🌍 Fully remote
- 🕒 Flexible working, with trust and autonomy (and occasional intensity)
- 💻 Dedicated work equipment
- 📚 £2,500 annual learning budget
- ⛱️ Annual company retreat
- 🍕 Regular company‑paid lunches
- 🧡 Health insurance (where applicable)
- 🍼 Enhanced parental leave
- 💸 Pension / 401k options
- Initial screening call
- Intro call with Head of Product
- Practical exercise stage with Head of Product and Senior Designer
- Final conversation with Co‑Founder
Try Hack Me takes the pain out of learning and teaching cyber security. Our platform makes it a comfortable experience to learn by designing prebuilt courses that include virtual machines (VM) hosted in the cloud and ready to be deployed. This avoids the hassle of downloading and configuring VMs. Our platform is perfect for CTFs, Workshops, Assessments, or Training. We've come a long way since launching in 2018, with over six million users on the platform!
