About The Role
Swansea Young Persons service provides temporary accommodation to young people aged 16-24 who are experiencing homelessness. The service delivers intensive housing related support to individuals who are ready to gain independence and a tenancy of their own.
As a Waking Night Young Persons Scheme Support Officer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of the young people in our service throughout the night. You will provide emotional and practical support, assist with any issues that may arise during the night, and contribute to a calm and stable environment.
Duties- Empower individuals with the knowledge and tools needed to live independently.
- Address complex behaviours and needs, including alcohol misuse, mental health issues, substance misuse, and offending behaviour.
- Work with a wide range of personalities and behaviours, including individuals who may be resistant to support.
- Adapt your approach to effectively engage with a diverse clientele.
- Undertake lone working, requiring strong communication skills, resilience, and confidence to work on your own initiative.
To excel as a Scheme Support Officer, you don't necessarily need previous experience or specific qualifications. Instead, this role requires:

- A strong initiative and ability to work alone as well as being a great team player
- Ability to deal with conflicting and difficult situations

Pay and Pensions- £24,531.00 FTE (£12.75 per hour) 20hrs per week - £13,260.00
