Paediatric Brain Injury Support Worker – Sketty - Bank Cover

We are seeking positive, energetic & fun‑natured support workers to join our team for our new client in Sketty, Swansea. Our client is a young male who has a brain injury, dystonia and epilepsy. He is PEG fed and requires suctioning, so experience and/or prior knowledge and training for these are ideal, however training can be provided.

Previous experience supporting young children is essential, plus a full UK driving licence.

Full time hours available, detailed below, however we encourage part time applicants to apply if some of the shifts are suitable for you!

Shifts:

Mon, Tues & Thurs am – School drop off in a taxi.

Weds & Fri am – Taking client from home to physio appointment and then to school, either in a taxi or 2:1 in family WAV.

Mon – Fri pm – School pick-up until 7pm.

Sat & Sun – 9am-3pm.

Pay – £17 per hour weekdays, £18 per hour weekends.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assisting with transporting client to school and attending physio appointments.
  • Delivering personalised care routines.
  • Assisting with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, mobility, and meal preparation.
  • Administering medication and monitoring health conditions.
  • Encouraging and joining in with play and activities!
  • Providing emotional support and companionship.
  • Maintaining accurate records of care provided and reporting any changes in clients’ conditions.
  • Collaborating with healthcare professionals and family members to ensure comprehensive care.
Requirements
  • Paediatric experience, preferably in a similar role working with brain injuries, PEG, epilepsy and dystonia.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Relevant qualifications in health and social care.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Compassionate, patient, and empathetic nature.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to work the specified hours.
