As our Accounts Assistant – AR, you’ll be at the heart of our finance team, ensuring that our numbers align with our brand reputation. You will be responsible for financial reporting, budgeting, and cost analysis, providing key insights to help drive our success. Responsibilities- Accounts Receivable: monitor amounts due from customers, ensure terms are correct in the system, and escalate credit limit issues promptly
- Encourage customers to pay on time through clear communication and prompt chasing when needed
- Escalate late payments in a timely and appropriate manner
- Assist with customer invoice quality control checks as required
- Allocate cash payments to debtor balances on the system
- Reconcile debtor accounts monthly, escalating issues as needed
- Handle customer payment, credit limit and other queries
- Aged debtor reporting
- Bank Reconciliations: perform regular bank reconciliations on Xero, ensuring all bank accounts reconcile accurately and timely
- Audit Support: assist in providing information to support annual external audits
- Financial Reporting: assist in preparing monthly and quarterly financial reports; respond to ad hoc requests from Finance Director and CFO
- Financial Compliance: maintain accurate financial records in line with company policies; ensure VAT, tax, and financial regulations compliance
- Provide administrative support to the Finance team
- Assist in process improvements to enhance financial efficiency
- Liaise with internal departments to support financial operations
- Work to timelines provided by the Finance Director for daily, weekly and monthly task completion
- Strong numerical and analytical skills
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Proficiency in accounting software is an advantage (Xero ideal) along with Microsoft Excel
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Strong communication skills for liaising with internal teams and external stakeholders
- AAT qualification (or working towards) is desirable
- 1+ years of experience in a finance or accounting role is desirable
- Previous experience in a fast-paced, high-growth business is an advantage
