We now have an exciting opportunity at the Swansea branch for a highly motivated Private Banking Manager. You will be responsible for the maintenance and development of a customer portfolio, the winning and onboarding of new customers through proactive business development, and full responsibility for all aspects of customer relationships (excluding Regulated Mortgage activity). This includes preparing credit applications, customer analysis, annual reviews, documentation completion, covenant compliance and profitability.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the maintenance and development of a portfolio of private banking customers, building relationships and ensuring customer satisfaction through excellent service.
  • Identify, meet and win prospective new customers/introducers by outlining our work and offerings.
  • Demonstrate a sound understanding of the Bank's Credit Policy and ensure lending decisions are within the discretion awarded by the Branch Manager.
  • Interpret financial information, evaluate lending propositions, assess and formulate risk ratings correctly and structure transactions.
  • Use the appropriate Bank systems to complete credit applications and annual reviews.
  • Develop and maintain a sound understanding of the local market, and maintain relationships with professional firms and introducers.
  • Have a demonstrable understanding of the products offered by Handelsbanken and a good understanding of competitor products, relevant industry and market driven trends.
  • Manage general administration, prepare legal documentation for accounts, personal loans and mortgages, maintain customer files (including CDD/AML requirements), prepare annual reviews and make payments.
Ideal Candidate
  • Applicants with a proven track‑record in relationship and portfolio management. Successful candidate will understand the Bank’s Credit Policy and processes, take initiative to drive performance, have demonstrable knowledge of the Bank’s suite of private banking products and a good understanding of competitor products, relevant industry and market driven trends, and strong business development capabilities.
  • Ability to build strong professional relationships at all levels, represent Handelsbanken effectively, with significant contact with customers and external professionals. Effective interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal) are essential.
  • Strong team player, flexible, proactive, conscientious, positive attitude. Work with integrity, discretion and under pressure.
  • Appreciate the need to provide and deliver an exceptional level of service to existing and potential customers. Strong attention to detail and an organised approach to work, with high accuracy.
  • Previous experience in lending documentation/security and AML/KYC procedures for personal customers/transactions would be advantageous.
