Cover Supervisor – Secondary Schools (Swansea)

Vetro Education is currently recruiting Cover Supervisors to work across secondary schools in Swansea.

This role is ideal for aspiring PGCE students, graduates, or anyone considering a rewarding career change into education.

The Role

As a Cover Supervisor, you will manage classrooms and support students in the absence of the regular class teacher, ensuring learning continues smoothly and positively.

Key Responsibilities

* Step up with enthusiasm to deliver pre-set lesson plans when the class teacher is absent

* Maintain a positive, calm, and engaging learning environment

* Demonstrate strong classroom management and behaviour support

* Encourage student participation and motivation

* Ensure a safe, inclusive, and welcoming classroom for all learners

* Follow school policies and procedures, with a strong focus on safeguarding

* Provide clear feedback to teaching staff on lesson outcomes and student engagement

* Adapt confidently to different subjects, year groups, and school settings

What We’re Looking For

* Experience working with children or young people (education, coaching, mentoring, youth work, etc.)

* Confident classroom management and strong communication skills

* A proactive, flexible, and reliable attitude

* Ability to inspire and motivate secondary-aged students

* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)

* Eligibility to work in the UK

* EWC registration (or willingness to complete the registration process)
