Intervention Teaching Assistant – Swansea
Contract: Full-time / Part-time considered

Are you passionate about helping children reach their full potential? Do you have the patience, energy, and drive to make a measurable impact on learning? We’re looking for a dedicated Intervention Teaching Assistant to join a warm, supportive school in Swansea.
About the RoleAs an Intervention TA, you will work closely with class teachers and the SENCo to deliver targeted support to pupils who need additional help in literacy, numeracy, and social/emotional development. Your goal will be to close learning gaps and give learners the confidence and skills they need to succeed.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver 1:1 and small group intervention sessions
- Support pupils with identified learning needs across KS1/KS2
- Assist with planning personalised intervention programmes
- Track pupil progress and provide feedback to teachers/SENCo
- Promote positive behaviour and support emotional wellbeing
- Help create a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
We’d love to hear from you if you have:
- Experience as a TA, LSA, tutor, or similar role
- Confidence delivering literacy and numeracy interventions
- Strong communication skills and a patient, encouraging manner
- A positive, proactive approach to supporting learning
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail
- Desirable: Experience or training in Wales-specific programmes such as:
- Literacy: Read Write Inc., Talk for Writing, Fresh Start, Reciprocal Reading, Literacy and Numeracy Framework (LNF) approaches
- Numeracy: Big Maths (CLIC), Success@Arithmetic, Numicon, Catch-Up Numeracy, Maths Mastery approaches
- (Desirable) Relevant qualifications such as Level 2/3 TA, CACHE, or a related degree
