We’re working with a range of welcoming and inclusive secondary schools and alternative education provisions across Carmarthenshire and Swansea to recruit Unqualified Teaching Assistants. This is a fantastic opportunity for graduates, career changers, or anyone eager to gain experience across different educational environments, including mainstream secondary schools and alternative provisions that support pupils with additional needs or those who thrive outside traditional classroom settings.

Your Role Will Include:
  • Supporting pupils in PRUs, SEMH provisions, and alternative education settings
  • Assisting with Additional Learning Needs (ALN) support
  • Providing one-to-one or small group interventions where required
  • Helping pupils stay engaged, confident, and motivated in their learning
  • Building positive and trusting relationships with students and staff
  • Implementing strategies to manage and de-escalate challenging behaviour effectively
  • Contributing to safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environments

You’ll be:

  • Positive, patient, and proactive
  • A confident communicator and team player
  • Passionate about supporting young people across a range of ages, abilities, and settings
  • Adaptable and eager to learn within different educational environments

Previous experience working with children, young people, or in care/support roles is desirable but not essential.

Requirements (We Can Help You With These):
  • Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC)
  • Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service
  • Level 2 Safeguarding training
  • Two professional references covering the last 24 months

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
