With a strong and expanding pipeline of work, we are looking to appoint an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team at our Head Office in Mumbles, Swansea.
The RoleThis is a key commercial position within the business. Based full-time at our HQ, you will take responsibility for the financial and contractual performance of residential and commercial projects from pre-construction through to final account.
You will play an integral role within the team, working closely with directors, project managers, and site teams to ensure projects are delivered efficiently and profitably.
Key Responsibilities Estimating & Pre-Construction- Prepare detailed cost estimates and tender submissions
- Conduct quantity take-offs and pricing analysis
- Obtain and assess subcontractor and supplier quotations
- Provide commercial input during tender negotiations
- Develop and manage project budgets
- Prepare monthly valuations and cost reports
- Monitor expenditure, cash flow, and forecasting
- Manage variations and change control processes
- Prepare and agree final accounts
- Administer main contracts (e.g., JCT, NEC or equivalent)
- Draft and manage subcontract agreements
- Assess subcontractor applications and payments
- Manage claims and contractual matters
- Ensure compliance throughout the project lifecycle
- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management
- 7+ years’ experience in residential and/or commercial construction
- Proven track record managing projects from tender to completion
- Strong understanding of construction contracts
- Commercially astute with strong negotiation skills
- Confident communicator who works well within a team environment
- Proficient in Excel and cost management systems
- Office-based role at Bancs HQ – Mumbles, Swansea
- 42.5 hours per week
- Monday to Friday
