Assistant Quantity Surveyor - Swansea

Salary/Package - £35,000 - £45,000 per annum + package

About the Company
A well-established property developer is delivering a major residential-led regeneration scheme in Swansea, comprising up to 600 affordable new homes alongside commercial space. The business has a strong reputation for quality, sustainability, and long-term investment in the communities it serves.

The Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join the commercial team on this flagship Swansea development. You will support the commercial delivery of a large-scale residential project from early stages through to completion, working closely with senior commercial staff, site teams, and supply chain partners.

As Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for:

Assisting with cost planning, budgeting, and forecasting for the development

Supporting the preparation of valuations, cost reports, and financial forecasts

Monitoring project expenditure and assisting with cost control measures

Supporting procurement activities, including subcontractor and supplier packages

Working collaboratively with site and project teams to ensure commercial objectives are achieved

Assisting with contract administration and ensuring compliance with contractual requirements

The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will be motivated, commercially aware, and eager to develop their career within quantity surveying. You will be detail-focused, well-organised, and comfortable working within a fast-paced residential construction environment.

The successful Assistant Quantity Surveyor will have:

A relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying or working towards one

Previous experience in a similar Assistant QS role, ideally within residential or mixed-use projects

Good understanding of cost management and procurement processes

Strong IT skills, particularly Microsoft Excel

Excellent communication skills and a proactive, team-oriented approach
