Job Description
Pre Construction team of the complex projects division within United Social Infrastructure is recruiting for a Commercial Lead on projects. This role is responsible for the commercial success of the projects whilst adhering to commercial administration procedures and delivering a collaborative environment with the client and throughout the subcontract/supply chain management.
Contract Management Responsibilities- Negotiate terms and conditions of subcontracts.
- Manage and process payments for specialist subcontracts and key suppliers.
- Ensure strict compliance with contract terms, conditions, rights, and obligations.
- Report monthly on the outturn Profit/Gain (if applicable).
- Client Facing.
- Analyse the impact of changes and assess liability exposure.
- Monitor and track contract obligations.
- Undertake site visits to administer the contract in line with project progress.
- Monitor and report on contract performance in terms of programme, cost, and key events/issues.
- Perform the closeout process, ensuring all contract terms are met and payments are verified.
- Obtain and execute any required forms, reports, or clearances and resolve outstanding issues.
- Collaborate with both clients and subcontractors in all duties.
- Work with the project team to evaluate the impact of budget changes.
- Capture and report cost variances.
- Collate Defined Cost Records for client audit.
- Produce monthly Cost Value Reconciliation.
- Generate Earned Value Analysis reports.
- Validate Subcontract Applications/Payments data.
- Review and validate weekly cost monitors, comparing forecasted costs with actual costs.
- Prepare monthly valuations.
- Maintain change registers.
- Provide commercial elements for the commercial report.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
- BSc in Quantity Surveying or a related commercial field.
- Membership in an appropriate professional body.
- Strong data interrogation skills.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Leadership experience with the ability to influence at all levels.
- Proficient in bid knowledge.
- Excellent understanding of legal and contractual aspects.
- Demonstrated industry experience.
- Valid driving license.
