Head Baseball Coach

QUALIFICATIONS:
A minimum of 3 years successful coaching experience as Head “Varsity” Baseball Coach or Assistant “Varsity” Baseball Coach

CDL Driver’s License is preferred
Incumbent must be able to provide a Criminal Background Check with results that adhere to Emanuel County Board of Education Policy GAK(1).
Knowledge of subject matter and appropriate instructional methodologies. Ability and training necessary to effectively utilize technology in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of instruction. Evidence of exemplary human relation skills. Evidence of exemplary organization and planning skills. Evidence of ability to work effectively with students, parents, and staff

PERFORMANCE FUNCTIONS: Demonstrates the ability to:
Develop and maintain a successful baseball program. Expectations include:

• Supporting district-wide mission, vision and academic goals,
• Effective and appropriate communication / relationship with students, parents and community members, andschool system leaders,
• Strong comprehension and ability to implement GHSA rules and regulations related to baseball,
• Collaboration with athletic director and coachesin developing game and practice schedules,
• Supporting academic needs of students,
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES: Helping each participating student-athlete achieve a high-level of skill. An appreciation for the values of discipline and sportsmanship and an increased level of self-esteem. Accepting management responsibilities for the baseball program which includes but not limited to supervising coaches, directing student-athletes, maintaining equipment, overseeing safety conditions, and working with booster organizations, etc. Fostering good school-community relations by keeping the community aware of and responsive to the athletic program.

Planning and scheduling a regular program of in-season practice. Maintains accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, county policy, and administrative regulation. Enforcing discipline and sportsmanlike behavior at all times including establishing and overseeing penalties for breach of such standards by individual students. Maintains regular, punctual attendance. Ensuring that eligibility requirements are met. Carries out such other duties that may be assigned by the principal.

Ability to maintain composure and not compound a situation when interacting with persons who may be angry, demanding or otherwise less than polite.
