Studio Photographer
Telling Tails Studio – Swaffham, Norfolk
Telling Tails Studio is a boutique dog photography studio based in the heart of Swaffham, Norfolk, dedicated to creating beautiful, personality-filled portraits of much-loved dogs and their humans. Every session is about capturing character, building trust, and making both people and pets feel relaxed and cared for. We do this by creating a dog-positive environment and aim to ensure that your dog(s) enjoy every minute of their experience with us.
We start by capturing your dog(s) in our fine art style because, let’s face it, every dog has a majestic side. But then, we let their true colours show – leaping for a treat, playing with their favourite toy, or jumping at our beef bubbles!
Telling Tails Studio have big goals for 2026, so we’re now looking for a Studio Photographer to join our small, friendly team, on a permanent basis and may include some weekends.
This is a rare and exciting opportunity for a creative individual who genuinely loves photography, enjoys working with dogs, and thrives on creating meaningful experiences for clients.
About the Role
This position would suit someone with a creative background or strong interest in photography who is confident, warm, and great with people (and pups!). You’ll be photographing dogs of all breeds, sizes and temperaments, often alongside their owners, so patience, empathy and a calm, positive energy are essential.
You’ll understand the trust our clients place in us and take pride in delivering images they’ll treasure for a lifetime.
Who We’re Looking For

• Outstanding people skills with excellent verbal communication

• A fun, friendly personality – confident, enthusiastic and approachable

• Well-presented and very personable – you must be brilliant with adults, children and dogs

• Demonstrable technical photography skills or similar

• A genuine passion for photography and delivering an exceptional client experience

• Honest, empathetic and patient, especially when working with nervous or excitable dogs

• Strong computer skills

• Excellent working knowledge of Lightroom and Adobe Photoshop

• Strong creative and technical photographic skills, a great eye for composition and detail

• Comfortable navigating the sales cycle and guiding clients through purchasing artwork

• Familiar with studio lighting, general studio environment and camera basics

• Excellent organisational and time-management skills

• Living locally (within a 45-minute drive of Swaffham)
What We’re Offering!

• Annual salary of up £22000 - £25,000 DOE

• A fun and relaxed working environment, working with a small team who are just as dog mad as you!

• The opportunity to learn and grow alongside an award-winning photographer

How to Apply

– and Stand Out
We’d love to see your talents as well as understand a bit more about you, so a quick Instagram link or a list of camera gear won’t be enough on its own. We want to see your style, your creativity, and your ability to connect through your work.
If you can genuinely picture yourself growing with Telling Tails Studio and building a career capturing dogs and their humans, we’d love to hear from you.
Please include:

• A covering letter clearly outlining which of the essential criteria you meet

• Your CV

• Low-resolution portfolio images (maximum 10MB) or a link to a professional online portfolio
