Position Summary: Vallen's Warehouse/Distribution Center Manager is a staff management position responsible for managing warehouse staff responsible for receiving, unloading, inspecting, picking, packing, and/or shipping goods. They monitor associate productivity, inventory management, as well as packing and shipping accuracy to ensure quality customer service to all Vallen customers. They also ensure all areas of assigned warehouse operations comply with internal and external safety standards or regulations.

• Staff management duties include, but are not limited to: interviewing, selecting, hiring, coaching, counseling, training, delegating work assignments and disciplining associates while enforcing company policies, procedures, and productivity standards.
• Sets goals and daily productivity expectations while maintaining a positive and collaborative culture built on employee respect; ensures team resources are used effectively and both productivity and profitability targets are achieved.
• Supports sales growth through excellent customer service and providing supply chain solutions; encourages and promotes a high level of customer service with accurate and on-time deliveries.
• Collaborates and coordinates activities with purchasing to ensure availability of merchandise.
• Directs reclamation of damaged merchandise; may coordinate transportation schedules.
• Oversees associate cross-training initiatives; collaborates with the training department for new training initiatives.
• Participates in on-going process improvement initiatives; monitors the effectiveness of handling procedures and space utilization and make recommendations for improvements; may lead automation and new technology projects.
• Tracks and performs to Vallen's standardized operating metrics (KOLPI's -- Key Operating Logistics)
