IT Project Manager
The Senior Manager, Technology Delivery will have strategic and personnel management responsibility for a team of Project Managers who spearhead complex, large-scale technology infrastructure deployments in new and existing data center sites. This role will be responsible for driving innovation and efficiency while adhering to project management best practices, concepts, and methodologies. The ideal candidate is a highly organized, effective project management professional and experienced people manager who possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills, relevant technical and industry expertise, and superb diplomacy and influence to continually exceed the expectations of both internal and external project stakeholders.

Builds and supports a high-performance team of Project Managers by hiring and developing key talent to ensure career growth and retention.
Manages performance and career development of Project Managers and any personnel under direct supervision
Drives annual goal planning, process improvement and continual learning of Technology Delivery Project Managers to align with QTS’ evolving business structure
Contributes to continuous improvement by utilizing project management best practices, established project methodologies and tools to mature project management capabilities for QTS, including internal processes and documentation.
Serves as an escalation point for internal and external project stakeholders
Evaluates overall portfolio risk and develops mitigation plans to address in conjunction with Project Management leadership and internal/external project stakeholders
Develops metrics on efficiency, utilization, stakeholder satisfaction and overall health of the programs and and communicates them to executive management and other internal QTS stakeholders
Tracks overall progress and outcomes against integrated programs and projects roadmap and lead the management and resolution of risks and issues.
Communicates regularly with leaders across QTS to calibrate ongoing project needs and anticipate future demands
Participates in cross-functional business initiatives related to project management functions as required
Bachelor’s degree in business, computer science, engineering or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
Seven or more years of progressive project management and people management experience in a data center, critical facility, or IT (Information Technology) infrastructure environment or related field
Extensive experience with Waterfall, Agile and/or Scrum methodologies
Extensive experience working in data center, critical facility, or other IT-related environment(s)
US Citizenship for this position is required by law due to federal customer contracts
Two or more years of experience as people leader
PMP (Project Management Professional), PMI-ACP, CAPM, Project, Scrum/Agile, Six Sigma or related certification(s)
Experience in PMO management and cross-functional team leadership
Advanced understanding of technical infrastructure components and their functions
Working knowledge of industry-leading project management tools (e.g., Smartsheet, Microsoft Project, and Service Now)
Experience managing budgets and negotiating vendor contracts
