We are seeking a hands-on Corporate Controller to lead and actively participate in the company’s accounting operations during a period of rapid growth. This role is ideal for a Controller who enjoys being close to the numbers, owning the close process end-to-end, and building scalable accounting processes in a private equity–backed environment.
The Corporate Controller will oversee accounting operations, financial reporting, internal controls, and technical accounting, while personally remaining involved in key areas of the monthly close, integrations, and system optimization. This role partners closely with the CFO and senior leadership to ensure financial accuracy, discipline, and scalability as the platform grows through acquisitions.
Key Responsibilities Hands-On Accounting & Close Ownership- Own and actively manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including direct involvement in journal entries, account reconciliations, and review
- Oversee and support day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, intercompany transactions, and consolidations
- Ensure accuracy, completeness, and integrity of financial statements prepared in accordance with U.S. GAAP
- Maintain high-quality balance sheet support, including accruals, reserves, and key estimates
- Support cash management and short-term forecasting in partnership with the CFO and FP&A
- Serve as the primary owner of technical accounting matters, including ASC 606 revenue recognition and other complex transactions
- Prepare and maintain technical accounting memos and supporting documentation
- Design, implement, and enforce internal controls and accounting policies across the organization
- Manage the annual audit process, including hands-on coordination with external auditors and preparation of audit support
- Ensure consistent application of accounting policies across all entities
- Actively manage and optimize the company’s ERP and accounting systems, with a strong preference for Net Suite experience
- Lead accounting integration for acquisitions, including chart of accounts alignment, close process integration, and system migrations
- Convert acquired entities from cash to accrual accounting, as required
- Drive process improvements, automation, and efficiencies across the record-to-report cycle
- Build standardized accounting workflows that can be replicated across future acquisitions
- Directly manage and develop the accounting team, while remaining actively involved in execution
- Train and mentor team members through close participation and review of work
- Support the integration of accounting staff from acquired entities into standardized corporate processes and timelines
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- Active CPA license
- 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including Controller or senior accounting leadership roles
- Experience in private equity–backed, multi-entity, or high-growth services organizations preferred
- Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and ASC 606
- Hands-on experience with Net Suite (implementation or optimization experience strongly preferred)
- Proven ability to own the close process while managing and developing a team
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through
- High integrity, accountability, and comfort operating in a fast-paced environment
