Mobile Trailer Mechanic II

To support growth, Fleet Services by Cox Automotive is hiring a Mobile Trailer Technician II. This is an on-site position focused on performing certified DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, light repairs, and other duties such as trailer brakes, air lines, auxiliary pumps, engines, liftgates, brake chambers, welding, fabrication, and body/frame repairs. Work is performed at the customer's site, and the technician can perform advanced repairs under supervision.

• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on refrigeration equipment, DOT inspections on trucks and trailers, and diagnose and repair compressor, coils, electrical components, etc.
• Manage parts inventory and operate company-issued service vehicle safely.
• Document work performed, parts used, and findings using company tools and applications.
• Complete all safety and compliance requirements, including DOT forms and safety protocols.
• Perform minor adjustments and repairs on trailers and equipment, including trailer brakes, air lines, liftgates, and welding.

• High School Diploma/GED and 3 years’ experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least 3 years of refrigerated equipment experience.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain necessary certifications such as ASE T8, 608/609 within 18 months.
• Ability to lift and perform physical tasks, and communicate effectively.
