GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY

This is an entry‑to‑intermediate level position that exists to produce Orenco products. A successful OMT (Orenco Manufacturing Tech) will move with a sense of purpose and urgency from task to task, be cooperative, demonstrate drive/self‑motivation, stay positive in the face of difficulties, make good use of work time, work well with other team members, and retain information.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & KRA Safety/Culture
  • Continuously maintains Orenco Management's safety, cultural, and professional standards.
  • Promotes, encourages, and reinforces a positive safety culture, safe practices, and a safe work environment to all employees.
  • Loads or fills molds with appropriate raw materials, paying attention to detail.
  • Reads production drawings and assembles various subcomponents into finished products using epoxies, glues, resins, screws, nuts, and bolts.
  • Trims, sands, grinds, drills, and/or routers fiberglass parts into accurate finished products.
  • Recognizes part defects and makes appropriate repairs.
  • Uses PPE (personal protective equipment) correctly and performs proper chemical storage and labeling.
  • Follows all safety rules diligently.
  • Uses power tools safely, maintains equipment, and cleans the work area daily.
  • Pays close attention to detail when completing any task.
  • Follows SOPs and MOPs in all areas.
  • Uses tablet and computer to enter and retrieve data.
  • Informs Lead Technician and Supervisor of any material, equipment, safety, or quality issues.
  • Interprets work orders, completing projects for shipment using manufacturing drawings and established SOPs.
  • Sets up and uses various jigs and fixtures.
  • Boxes, packages, and labels finished products for shipment.
  • Empties shop trash cans and cardboard bins.
  • Operates the cardboard compacter when needed.
  • Works during manufacturing business hours, which may include occasional early or late shifts and overtime.
  • Maintains regular, consistent, and predictable attendance.
  • Performs other duties as assigned in various areas.
Controls – Standard/Custom/Standard OEM/Custom OEM
  • Assembles control panels according to specifications, including back plate setup, wiring, modifying, enclosing, and packaging of control panels and parts.
  • Kits production work orders by cutting wires, installing crimps, cutting din rail, cutting wire tray/cover, and pulling parts from the bill of materials.
  • Tests, troubleshoots, and repairs control panels.
  • Programs circuit boards, firmware chips, and logic devices.
  • Fabricates protrusions in fiberglass, metal and plastic enclosures with drills, plasma cutter, CNC router, and various pneumatic tools.
  • Assembles complex enclosures and electrical components.
