Civils Operatives - East

Civils Operatives Highways Various Locations Long term works £180 - £220/day dependent on Experience & Certification £230 - £285/night dependent on Experience & Certification We are seeking a number of Civils Operatives to support civils and asphalt works across highways, reinstatement, and general street works environments. The role combines hands-on site duties, ensuring safe, compliant and efficient delivery of works on both day and night shifts.

Shift patterns may vary depending on programme requirements, weather conditions, and client needs.

Key Responsibilities for Civils Operatives Join civils and asphalt teams with reinstatement, excavation, back filling, and surfacing tasks. Assist with site preparation, including signing, lighting and guarding in accordance with NRSWA requirements. Carry out manual handling, loading/unloading, and general labouring duties as required. Ensure all works are completed safely, efficiently, and to specification. Work collaboratively with supervisors, gangs, and other operatives to meet programme targets.

Follow all health, safety, environmental and quality procedures on site. Represent the company professionally when interacting with the public, clients, and other stakeholders. Required Skills & Experience for Civils Operatives Proven experience in civils, reinstatement, or asphalt works. Desirable - Operating a 7.5T vehicle in urban and rural environments. Ability to work as part of a team and follow site instructions.

Strong awareness of site safety, traffic management, and working around live highways. Physically fit and capable of manual labour. Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently when required. A combination of the following certifications NRSWA (Streetworks) CSCS EUSR First Aid Lorry Licence Fit for Work medical Additional Information for Civils Operatives Candidates must be willing to travel within the region.
