Corporate Logistics & Transportation Manager

Our client, a large, Canadian supplier of raw materials in the construction and infrastructure domain, is looking to hire an experienced Logistics and Transportation Manager to join their corporate team.

In this role you would be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing all logistics and transportation activities for several lines of business.

Responsibilities
  • Strategic leadership of logistics and transportation for all company LOBs.
  • Work collaboratively with teams across all LOBs to ensure smooth operations across the supply chain.
  • Responsible for timely and cost-effective delivery and receipt of materials coming from both domestic and international suppliers.
  • Responsible for planning, scheduling and coordination for receipt of orders, loading / unloading of materials in the yards
  • Responsible for scheduling and delivery to customers, ensuring materials are delivered to job sites within established timelines
  • Manage inventory levels in the yards, maintaining accurate records of materials on site and in transit.
  • Hire, manage, monitor performance of transportation vendors.
  • Work cross functionally to improve coordination between logistics, procurement, and customer service.
  • Develop logistics plans and contingency strategies for changing site conditions and project phases.
  • Ensure appropriate safety protocols are in place, both in the yards and on site with clients during deliveries.
  • Ensure compliance with Ontario transportation laws, safety regulations, and Ministry of Labor guidelines.
  • Maintain documentation for audits, regulatory inspections, internal reporting, and produce monthly reports.
Qualifications
  • Certificate, diploma or degree in logistics, supply chain, construction management or related preferred
  • 10+ years of experience in logistics & transportation management, preferably in the construction industry. Aggregate experience would be an asset.
  • 5+ years managing logistics, transportation, operations teams for large scale operations
  • Strong knowledge of Ontario’s transportation and workplace safety regulations (e.g., OHSA, CVOR, WSIB).
  • Proficiency with office productivity tools, including word, excel, outlook
  • Work involves outdoor site visits, on occasion off hours.
