Machine Operator - Edgebander

The Machine Operator - Edgebander is responsible for creating quality parts produced on CNC machines such as lathes and milling machines according to company plans, blueprints, and other diagrams. Responsibilities include loading parts, proving tapes, operating controls, setting offsets, simple edits, deburring, and inspection of quality parts for conformance to requirements.

• Comply and enforce Occupational Health and Safety standards and practices.
• Set up, program, and operate one or more computerized or manual woodworking machines.
• Replace parts as required.
• Read and interpret paperwork to understand the work required to be done on the machine.
• Load and unload completed parts from machinery manually.
• Operate preset special purpose woodworking machines to fabricate wood products.
• Clean machinery and equipment.
• General production shop duties are required from time to time.

• Completion of secondary school, or equivalent.
• 2+ years of experience.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Provide a high level of attention to detail. English reading, writing, communication, and math skills.
• Previous cabinetry and carpentry experience is an asset.
• Demonstrated team player.
• Good communication skills.
• Excellent problem solving, decision‑making, critical thinking, task planning, and organizing skills.
