The Full-Time Machinist will contribute to the success of Garaventa Lift by playing a critical role in our business. The Machinist will be required to use equipment to manufacture parts and components for final products, as well as provide guidance and support to shop hands. Day/Afternoon shift flexibility required in the position. This position is 100% on-site at Surrey, BC.

• Read and interpret technical specifications, drawings, or verbal instructions to determine machining requirements.
• Lay out, set up, and operate one or more of the following: manual mills, manual lathes, CNC mills, CNC lathes, automatic bandsaws, and various hand tools.
• Introduce and guide shop hands/apprentices on proper equipment operation and safety protocols.
• Measure, inspect, and verify parts to ensure they meet required dimensions and specifications.
• Troubleshoot issues and perform minor repairs or adjustments to machining equipment as needed.
• Conduct preventive maintenance (PM), cleaning, and lubrication of equipment according to established schedules.

• IP Red Seal, BC TQ, or equivalent relevant experience required.
• Previous experience operating Mazak CNC Mills is preferred.
• Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specification documents.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform tasks requiring physical stamina.
• Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and commitment to safety.
