Position Summary
The BAS Service Technician will work within occupied buildings on behalf of our customers. The technician will be responsible for various BAS preventative maintenance tasks, programming & graphic changes, possible HVAC equipment startups, and commissioning and troubleshooting of DDC Systems with minimal supervision. This position requires flexibility to work overtime as the business needs (on call).
Key Responsibilities:
Understand and have knowledge of building mechanical/electrical/control systems and equipment, typical BAS controls systems and devicesEffective and timely communication at the highest possible levelTotal customer satisfaction, internal and externalPerform site-specific training for owner/operatorProfessional and expedient conflict resolutionPerform system startups, and network connections, create and modify graphics interfaces as requiredPoint-to-point functional testing of equipment/systemsDocumenting and record-keeping of one’s workCoordinates and communicates with clients and dispatchers.Adherence to schedules and deadlinesAttention to safety protocolsUse of hand tools and testing equipmentQualifications:
High School or GED required.Associates degree or equivalent from a two-year College or technical school with a certificate in Instrumentation, Automation, HVAC, AAS, BAS preferred,
orCertified Red Seal Electrical Journeyperson for min 1 year with computer skillsProficient with:
Microsoft Office SuiteGood understanding of the Canadian Electrical Code. FSR-B is an asset.Knowledge of Wireshark and Network CapturesBCEM (Building Certified Energy Manager)SEMAC (Sustainable Energy Management Advanced Certificate)Strong written and verbal communication, as well as interpersonal skillsResourceful, problem-solver that is energetic and able to manage multiple prioritiesMust have a valid driver’s license and hold a clean driving recordWilling to work after hours and on an on-call rotational basisProblem-solving solid abilities (electrical troubleshooting and problem-solving, networking)Knowledge of programming, access, and surveillance systems, fire alarm, and network topologyFocused and detail orientatedTeam player that functions well in a busy environmentAble to work independently and manage time effectivelyThe gross hourly range is $30 - $55. This range represents the anticipated low and high end of the range for this position. Actual rates will vary and are based on factors such as a candidate’s qualifications, skills, and competencies.
