Westland Insurance Group has an exciting, fixed-term contract opportunity for a Team Lead, Talent Acquisition
. This is a hybrid role based out of our Surrey, BC head office
.
Do you enjoy coaching and mentoring Talent Acquisition team members while staying hands‑on in a fast‑paced, high‑volume recruiting environment? Are you motivated by improving processes and driving meaningful change?
In this role, you’ll coach and support TA team members while balancing a high‑volume recruiting workload. You’ll work closely with the broader People team to optimize Talent Acquisition operations, drive process improvements, and contribute to key projects – blending hands‑on recruiting with operational leadership.
This is a 12‑month maternity leave cover
.
Expected Compensation:
The expected hiring salary range for this role is $84,000 to $105,000
, based on a 35‑hour work week. Your rate of pay will be determined based on your individual qualifications and experience, while considering internal equity.

As the Team Lead, Talent Acquisition
, you play a central role in supporting Westland’s growth and expansion plans. You’ll lead day‑to‑day recruitment operations while guiding members of our a high‑performing Talent Acquisition team. With ownership of your own recruitment portfolio you’ll balance hands‑on delivery with leadership, systems ownership, and continuous improvement.
Working closely with HR and business leaders, you’ll bring data‑informed insights to strengthen sourcing strategies, improve processes, and help develop the talent acquisition function at Westland.

Why we’ll love you:
- 3+ years of full‑cycle recruitment experience, including high‑volume and multi‑business unit environments.
- 1+ year of experience directly or indirectly managing a team of recruiters or Talent Acquisition specialists.
- Experience leading projects and process improvements in People/HR operations, including sourcing strategy and recruitment workflows.
- Data‑driven approach: skilled in analyzing recruitment metrics and making actionable recommendations.
- Proactive sourcer with experience in remote recruitment and teaching sourcing strategies to others.
- Excellent communicator, able to build trust and influence hiring managers, HR partners, and team members.
- Dayforce experience is a strong asset, including managing recruitment workflows, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement.
- Tech‑savvy and adaptable, proficient with MS Office, recruitment tools, and emerging technologies (including AI for process efficiency), thriving in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.
- Strong sense of urgency and prioritization, balancing high‑volume requisitions while coaching others.
