Job DescriptionThese roles could be local to Prince George, BC or camp-based with opportunities for fly-in, and fly-out. We are especially interested in individuals local or willing to relocate to the Northern BC region (Prince George and Terrace)
- Earthwork monitoring quality control
- Piling monitoring and inspections
- Geomatics
- Monitoring, documenting, and verifying field construction activities to evaluate compliance with design specifications
- Be involved in multi-discipline projects in the areas of geotechnical design for foundations, retaining & shoring systems, mining facilities, slope stabilization, roads, and other infrastructures
- Preparing technical reports, project scheduling & resourcing, meeting project deadlines and budgets
- Performing geotechnical testing and installations – Slope Inclinometers (SI), Vibrating Wire Piezometers (VWP)
- Data collection for groundwater monitoring, pump testing, hydraulic conductivity testing, soil sampling, surface water sampling, sediment sampling, and other environmental field services
- Driving in an active mine and interacting with heavy equipment
- Communicating verbally using atwo-way radio system
- Developing and maintaining excellent relationships with clients
- Participating in local and remote projects, working up to 12 hours per day/night
- Pay rate will be $30.00 - $35.00 per hour depending on work experience
We're looking for individuals with:
- Degree/Diploma in Geoscience, Civil Engineering, or Technology, or an equivalent combination of education and field experience
- Legal authorization to work in Canada on an ongoing basis
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and at least 2 years of driving experience
- CCIL certificate preferred
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
- Preference will be given to those who have previous mining experience
- Strong commitment to safety, knowledge of safety regulations and experience in implementing safety procedures on mining projects
- Willingness to relocate is encouraged
- Experience in a technical field-based role is an asset, as is experience in the civil construction or engineering industry
- Proficiency in off-road 4x4 driving and winter conditions
- BSO/CSO, H2S & CCIL certification
- Membership with ASTTBC or EGBC is considered an additional advantage
