Job Title:

Estimator, Construction

Location:

23853 Fraser Highway, Langley, BC V2Z 2K5 (On site)

Salary: $40.24 to $42.24 per hour (Negotiable) for a 40-hour week, permanent full‑time, Morning/Day shifts.

Employment Start:
As soon as possible.

Responsibilities

Prepare estimates of labour and/or material costs.

Prepare pre‑qualification submissions to present clients.

Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine work requirements.

Prepare master format estimates (Class

A) and elemental format estimates (Classes B, C,

D).

Operate CADD and other computer software systems.

Prepare estimates for general expenses and overheads.

Provide economic feasibility studies and preliminary estimates for proposed projects.

Create and submit estimate reports, quote sheets and bid forms.

Advise on tendering procedures.

Analyze tenders and recommend awards.

Monitor and adjust contract expenditures.

Prepare and maintain a directory of supplies and trade contractors.

Liaise, consult and communicate with engineers, architects, owners, contractors and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates.

Conduct geotechnical programs for data acquisition, analysis and mapping.

Qualifications & Experience

Education:

College/CEGEP.

Experience:

3 to less than 5 years in a similar role.

Computer and technology knowledge:
AutoCAD, MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, Solid Works, MS Outlook, Microsoft Visio, CADD.

Equipment and machinery experience:
Pumps.

Industry experience:
Pipelines.

Specialization:
Geotechnical.

Resource usage and environmental studies:
Groundwater movement analysis.

Transportation / Travel

Willing to travel.

Valid driver's licence.
