Secondary School Junior Science and Math Teacher

Overview

Khalsa Secondary School is seeking a Secondary School Science and Math teacher for our Sikh faith-based school located  are an IB MYP authorized World School and an AP Level 2 school. We are a growing school with opportunities. Academic teachers do not have to be observers of the faith; teachers from all diverse backgrounds are encouraged to apply. Our teachers are supported and have a prep in each semester.

Start date:

January 27, 2026.

Currently, we have one Secondary School Science and Math teacher opening for January 27, 2026. We recognize North American teaching experience.

• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that adhere to the curriculum
• Utilize a variety of teaching methods to ensure all students understand the material
• Create a positive and inclusive learning environment
• Assess student progress and provide feedback
• Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the overall learning experience
• Participate in parent-teacher meetings and school events

• Bachelor's degree in Education or related field
• BC teaching certification
• Proven experience related to relevant subjects (preferable)
• Strong organizational skills to manage lesson plans and grading effectively
• Excellent communication skills to engage with students, parents, and colleagues
• Ability to tailor teaching methods for diverse learning styles
• Proficient in proofreading educational materials
• Classroom management expertise
• Experience in tutoring or special education is a plus

• Teaching: 1 year (preferred)

• Strong organizational abilities to handle multiple tasks efficiently
• Excellent communication and writing skills
• Ability to adapt instruction for diverse learners

• Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract
• Contract length: maternity leave fill until June 30, 2026
• Salary:
  Starting salary for a CoQ teacher is $6400 per month
• Other salary benefits are available for this position
• Teaching experience from within Canada is recognized for a possible higher starting salary for CoQ teachers
