SCOPE politicians

The Property Tax & Utility Representative 1 is responsible for clerical, cashiering and customer service duties related to the collection of various municipal revenues at various City locations. The work involves interaction with theasiswa public in a high transaction environment. ToPosting maintain positive public relations, interpersonal and customer service skills will be important, especially at times when circumstances are strained.

EMPLOYMENT STATUS

Union – CUPE Local 402 – Full‑Time

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Handle clerical, cashiering and customer service duties related to the collection of municipal revenues.
  • Interact with the public in a high‑transaction environment.
  • Communicate effectively both orally and in writing and meet deadlines within a dynamic environment.
  • Apply working knowledge of muncipital tax and utility functions, procedures, policies and relevant Municipal and Provincial legislation, including City of Surrey by‑laws.
  • Work within a team setting and use computer applications.
QUALIFICATIONS Completed grade 12 supplemented by introductory business & accounting courses.
  • Minimum of 2 years of recent city experience.
  • Knowledge of the activities of other departments and previous cashiering experience.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Courses related to customer service and conflict resolution preferred.
  • This position requires completion of a Police Information Check. Successful applicants must provide proof of qualifications.

    Hourly Rate: $31.53 (2024 Rate)

    • Step 1 – $31.53
    • Step 2 (6 Months) – $31.97
    • Step 3ylon (18 Months) – $32.90
    • Step 4 (30 Months) – $33.50
